Abdón G. Ruiz — Co-Founder & Managing
Director
In 1995, Abdón joined the Venture Capital Division
of the Economic Development Bank for Puerto Rico ("EDB"),
commencing his venture capital investment career. During
his tenure at EDB, he became the Director of the Venture
Capital Division and refocused the bank's investment strategy
from start-ups and early stage companies to expansion capital
financing opportunities in order to balance the portfolio.
At EDB, he oversaw investments in a number of local small
and medium size companies with proceeds in excess of $20
million.
Abdón has been a member of the Board
of Directors of a number of portfolio companies including
Aeromed Medical Services and Pharmaceutical Packaging Specialties.
Prior to joining EDB he worked as an Analyst in the Banking
Structure Division (Mergers & Acquisitions) of the
Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Abdón holds a B.S.
degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a
MBA degree from Boston University.
Abdón currently serves as
a member of the Board of Directors of two nonprofit
organizations: VITEC2, a technology company incubator,
and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Puerto Rico.
